I Set Up My Own Website and You Can Too!

Creating a website for your small business doesn’t have to be a daunting task. You can do it! With a little bit of planning and the use of a user friendly website builder, you can easily get your business on track and improve your chances for success.

Painted AF is a cabinet painting business. We use our website for potential clients to request a quote for our services. Our past work is also displayed in a gallery. Your website is often the first impression potential customers will have of your business, so it’s important to make sure it’s well-organized and professional, but mostly, it's important to have one at all!

I'm no web designer, but when starting Painted AF, I set up a website through Wix, a very affordable, user friendly and easy-to-maintain website builder. I did set aside a few hours to create it, but after it was created, I spend minimal time each month updating and tweaking it.

Websites also go hand-in-hand with your social media presence. One of the first things I look for when searching Facebook, Instagram or GoogleMaps even, is a website. Don't we all?

You will also be able to purchase your domain (your "www.name.com"). There is usually a monthly fee that ranges depending on the type of services you need. I pay roughly $40 per month for Wix which is super affordable for me at this time. Though if I wanted, I could hire a professional through Wix to take my website up a notch. I love that I have the option.

No matter what, we live in a time where a website is extremely helpful to have when promoting your small business. I used to think that that web design was only for professionals, but not anymore! I set up my own website and you can too!
