Transform your kitchen with a smooth, professionally sprayed cabinet finish. Painted AF provides detailed preparation and high-quality cabinet painting throughout the Fort Worth and surrounding areas.

WHO WE ARE

Painted AF is a Fort Worth-based team of trained cabinet-painting specialists. We handle every step, from detailed preparation and masking to spraying and final installation, creating a smooth, durable finish that transforms your existing cabinets without the cost and disruption of replacing them.

OUR CABINET PAINTING PROCESS

Most cabinet painting projects are completed in 3-5 days. Larger kitchens or projects may take longer.

Step 1: Door and Drawer Removal

We carefully remove and label the cabinet doors and drawer faces. We then transport back to our shop where we remove and label hinges and prep and paint in shop.

Step 2: Protection and Masking

Countertops, floors, appliances, walls and cabinet openings are carefully covered and protected. Cabinet frames remain in the home and are professionally sprayed on site.

Step 3: Cleaning and degreasing

All surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and degreased to remove buildup that could prevent proper adhesion.

Step 4: Repairs and Sanding

We fill minor imperfections and unwanted hardware holes when included in the project. Every surface is then scuff-sanded to prepare it for primer.

Step 5: Spray Prime

Cabinet surfaces are sprayed with a high-quality primer and lightly sanded to create a smooth foundation. Additionally, another round of filler may be required here as well as a second coat of prime.

Step 6: Sprayed Finish Coats

We apply two (three when necessary), sprayed finish coats for smooth, even coverage and lasting durability.

Step 7: Reinstallation and Final Inspection

Doors and drawer fronts are reinstalled, touchups are completed and the entire project is inspected.

Cabinet interiors are not included in standard pricing but may be added to your quote. Please note: Painted cabinet interiors may show normal wear sooner than exterior surfaces because of frequent contact with dishes, cookware and other stored items.

TYPICAL PROJECT TIMELINE

Every project is scheduled according to its size and scope, so the exact timing and order of these stages may vary. In some cases, our first visit is only to remove and pick up the doors and drawer fronts. You will receive a detailed schedule before your project begins.

INITIAL VISIT: DOOR AND DRAWER REMOVAL

We carefully remove and label the doors and drawer fronts for transporting to our shop. At the shop we remove and label every single hinge.

ONSITE PREPARATION

Cabinet surfaces are cleaned and sanded, and the surrounding areas are carefully masked and protected. Kitchen access may be limited during this stage.

ONSITE SPRAYING

The cabinet frames are professional sprayed. Afterward, we remove the protective materials and clean the area so you can access your kitchen again.

SHOP REFINISHING

Doors and drawer fronts are prepared and professionally sprayed at our shop.

FINAL INSTALLATION

We return to re-install the doors and drawer fronts, complete necesssary touch-ups and perform a final inspection.

Some stages may take place on the same day. Larger or more detailed projects may require additional time.

PROFESSIONAL CABINET COATINGS

PRIMER

We use B-I-N Shellac-Based Primer to seal the surface and help block stains, wood tannins and discoloration from bleeding through the finish.

TOPCOAT

Our standard finish is Sherwin-Williams Gallery Series. This professional waterborne coating is sprayed to create a smooth, durable finish designed for cabinets and other frequently used surfaces.

OPTIONAL 2K COATING

A 2K coating upgrade is available upon request. Additional charges, scheduling requirements and a larger deposit may apply.

BOOKING AND PAYMENT

A booking deposit of $100-$300 is required to reserve your project date. This deposit is applied toward your total project price.

The remaining balance is divided into two payments.

  • 50% is due on the first day of the project

  • The final 50% is due when the project is completed

Projects over $10,000 may require a customized installment schedule. All payment details will be included in your estimate and contract before booking.
